I heard a lot fear from builders at /farcon that Warpcast is unbeatable. I agree - there are no large scale Twitter-clone client opportunities. The client opportunities are in adding social to separate products: social onchain Robinhood, pump.fun with chat in channels, social context on transactions, etc.

A dominant Twitter-clone Warpcast is crucial, and you shouldn’t be worked up about it IMO - without it, there are no users, no usable protocol, and no other adjacent client opportunities.

A transaction forward client will be the one that gains significant traction imo

you don’t need to beat Warpcast to build a sustainable business with a Twitter-clone yes, other more interesting opportunities will have a larger addressable market but as long as Dan and Varun keep the protocol open and as usage grows, I think there will be a vibrant ecosystem of Twitterrifics

When I think of building on Farcaster. The least interesting thing to me is a Twitter-style client. rn we're focused on how we use Farcaster's social graph and other social signals to improve a non-Twitter UX. I think it's hard for people to see how that could look when for many people Farcaster === Warpcast.

People don’t want more twitter clones, but they do want to take their groups with them to different experiences. Decentralizing channels will enable this. Imagine taking your subreddit to other apps like TikTok, IG, YT. You don’t need more Warpcast clones
