The popular question I would like to entertain everyone with: what makes you a senior dev?

When you can say things like “back in my day we used to use…”

Understanding how and why you’re building something, and being able to make trade offs based on that.

Technical skill is only a small part of the title IMO.

What people said about a project by yourself, but also IMO it’s being able to step into new technologies relatively easily.

if you can work on a project end-to-end without any guidance or support

When you see junior devs making the same mistakes you did a few years ago with the same assurance you had back then 😄

Traditionally you become a senior dev when you turn 65 years old as a dev

Coming up with projects for yourself and being able to unblock yourself. A senior dev is a team of 1. Once you can prove to be a good team of 1, you'll get a team of > 1

Amount of things you've seen which started good and gone completely wrong
