Had such a profound moment of clarity scrolling all my old bookmarks on tiktok and seeing how many now have millions of plays and likes A bookmark is a buy. Assuming all those posts were onchain my tiktok wallet would be absolutely popping. Never had more confidence all content will be tokenized and those who are early will reap the benefits

a bookmark is not a buy because a bookmark costs you $0

I'm saying the intent that goes into bookmark is what it will feel like to buy. I used to think that like = buy but bookmark feels deeper than a like. Agreed bookmark is $0 but also think we'll see more models where a buy *feels* like $0 cause you're using pre-loaded credits or credits you've earned from app usage or creator earnings.

I guess I still don't see it because why are people spending these credits unless they have to the content is free...why buy it there is no reason someone should care about buying your early "bookmark", it does nothing to increase the utility they experience from consuming the content

Devil's advocate: imagine if augment algorithmic timelines by ranking up early niche "buys", and if they break out then they get some amount of revshare back. I do think there is value in following smaller accounts and amplifying their underrated work. Perhaps that's how this gets expressed?

Yeah, totally — projects like Drakula and Jam tried this, but no one wants to spend on illiquid content. People go to watch, not check prices. Paying for bookmarks adds no real utility.
