It has been eye opening to me to see how much $$$ old me wasted on health wearables Among those bought but never used - Morpheus HR strap - Amazon health band - Nuurv smart insoles I also recently threw away my WHOOP For me, an Apple Watch gives me everything I want to track regularly without being annoying or obtrusive in service of DAU

I love the whoop because I don't want a screen on my wrist but if I was an apple watch guy, I'd agree

😮 you threw away your whoop? Curious why. I used to work with Scott.

"smart insoles"? sounds like bad scifi writing from the 70's that ended up being real.

Have both an Apple Watch and Oura. I really love both. I can’t always wear a watch in the summer bc it irritates my wrist and the Oura has solved that and the sleep data is good. However… I have no idea where my Ultrahuman ring is. The battery was trash.

For me the Apple Watch and Oūra ring are the only things I bother with. Change them every 3 years, give or take.

I got rid of the oura ring and all other wearables I think I just don’t want to hyper fixate on health data

i have a drawer of smart jewelery. none of it stuck & much of it was annoying. the most used is now an (outdated) apple watch for walks & etc tracking.

+1 to throwing away whoop recently and just sticking to a simple apple watch. whoop has become a pop culture, jewellery company. most of their science is questionable at best and like peloton their team is just boosting personal profiles so post-whoop they've secured roles/gigs

+1 i tried whoop after oura (which was the first mistake) and im on the verge of getting rid of whoop too. data seems more accurate but app ux is complex.

I use the Apple Watch for everything except sleep tracking which I find Oura to be miles ahead on.

remember how much i liked my jawbone up devices. had a number of them and they all stopped charging, then the company went under... all solved with my ultra 2.

I wish I could go full Apple Watch because it is stellar but my tattoos prevent accuracy, so I have the watch + Oura ring combo. It’s nuts that in 2025 though, Apple still hasn’t pushed improvements on this ☹️

I use my apple watch for basically everything. Got my first 5k in awhile yesterday & tracked that, my bike rides in the morning, and also my walk after the run. I’m not digging the direction of my vo2 max trend but it is epic that my watch can accurately track that too!
