Agree… also enjoyed Kim Stanley Robinson’s novel Antarctica which gives a kinda plausible/sympathetic version of how and why it could be true… something something the last frontier on earth

Not having evidence doesn't prove something doesn't exist, but it does mean we have no good reason to believe it does. In science and rational thinking, the burden of proof is always on the person making the claim. Extraordinary claims, like an ultra-advanced hidden civilization under Antarctica,require extraordinary evidence. Could something exist that we haven’t discovered yet? Sure. Should we believe it does exist without any evidence? No. Otherwise, we’d have to take every possible idea seriously, from invisible unicorns on the Moon to ancient alien bases in the Marianas Trench. It's not about being close-minded—it's about being intellectually honest. Stay curious, absolutely. Explore the wild ideas. But until there's real evidence, we treat it as fiction, not fact. Curiosity is healthy. Certainty without evidence? Not so much.

Sometimes I’m watching a podcast and thinking - is this guy being sarcastic and funny? But then I see their passion . Either they truly believes what they are saying, or they are really really good actors. Generally it’s mix of both.
