What you lose in translating words from one language to another

You lost the subtle cultural nuance of what the words actually means

Without this nuance, we flatten into a world devoid of richness of culture

Yeah that and delivery as well. Let’s not forget that 85% of all communication is no verbal with includes gestures and tone of voice, etc.

So true. My partner and I are finding examples of that almost every week. There are so many words which translation SPA-ENG and viceversa, are not completely accurate.

Interesting point. That is why I love having lived in several countries (within the confines of Europe). It has opened my eyes to the richness of nuances that is hidden in the way we non-native English speakers use English as a global language. At first glance it might seem flat, but it is brimming with references hidden in sentence structures, direct translations of sayings with deep roots, and so on. Once you open your eyes to that, it will help to get back in touch with that richness.
