It finally clicked that coffee doesn’t give me more energy, it just makes me less tired. I knew it but didn’t really internalize it until quitting caffeine for 2mo.

Caffeine doesn’t give energy. It inhibits the receptors “adenosine” I think, that tell your body you’re tired - so you’re depleting more than you should. It’s like a loan of energy… When caffeine breaks down in the body you get the crash.
