Farcaster Pro was an easy choice given how much time and effort I’ve already invested here, but I wonder if it might alienate newcomers over the long run.

The last thing you want when you’re new to a social network is to feel like you’re fighting an incumbent vocal minority for mindshare in a pay-to-play game.

I think this is the case for me. Do I have the money to pay it for? Yes, Do I see value on it? Kindof. But overall the main issue is that for small accounts 120USD is a high entry point, for others is easy because in general they have made hundreds with the leaderboard rewards.

Let's see how it evolves.

also, while a lot of people have done it in order to support the ecosystem, which is amazing, I wonder how many have done it for getting the NFT and speculate with it :D Check what happened with the OG NFT.

First 10K got sold out in the first 6 hours ig?
After that, subs are only around ~500 till now.

For people interested in Farcaster Pro analytics:

I have a decent chunk of Neynar scores it looks like there are about 5000 indexed accounts (accounts that recently generated data) that purchased Farcaster Pro.

Analyzing this sample of Pro users and Neynar Score distribution alone within that sample shows there are a lot of people who appear to be using AI generated casts or who churned and recently came back.

While it's hard to say these accounts are doing anything malicious, it does look like a lot of people that don't have connections on the network are paying $100 to likely boost their account, which is seen in the distribution of Neynar scores.

I think someone will create that soon though i did not find one. But this might give some insights.

So I haven't seen a clean table on Dune yet, but all you have to do is get all wallet transfers to 0x0BDcA19c9801bb484285362fD5dd0c94592c874C for 120 USDC. I did this raw since I wanted the CSV files, then aligned those transfers with verified ethereum accounts via Neynar data.

That address is the deposit address for Pro subscriptions.

Thanks for the Dune dashboard and Intel. This click may then be more problematic. Is it possible to see how any pro users have been casting over the last five days in that Dune dashboard?
