what is being enabled by crypto that they will be most excited about?

they are on Robinhood they have no problem buying stocks

so the only difference is it's "onchain"? because that's not a value prop to anyone I know

I don't think foreign stocks are accessible throughout the globe. Plus most brokers have lengthy onboarding even if they allow.

What tech enables here is permissionlessness, no?

tbh I haven't checked how they issue stocks btw. I’m assuming they act as custodians for stocks and issue equivalent tokens.

There’s still risk, since the actual underlying asset is in their custody. It may not be fully permissionless unless we have a way to issue fully onchain stocks.

But still, a W in the right direction I believe.

isn't the bottleneck there just laws and regulations vs the tech not being able to handle it?
