Emotional morning. Since the marathon, I really haven’t been able to run. I developed some knee strain in the final 10K or so and it hasn’t fully subsided. I tried a 5K a couple weeks ago and was on a limp for two days. I went out today with a knee brace and couldn’t even get thru a mile. I have every negative thought rushing thru my head rn. You’re too old. Too heavy for this sport. Everyone tells you you’re built for lifting not running. Running is meditation for me. I just want to get back to it but I know I have to listen to my body. Will be focusing on strength and recovery for a while. I will get back to the road. Eventually.

It's a tough mental game when your body won't perform the way you desire it to. I feel your pain... Where is the pain concentrated? Is it dull, sharp, tight? Have you gotten it looked at?

It feels like a strain right at the muscle/connective tissue at the inner part of of my left knee. I’m going to try to get in with an orthopedist but getting an appointment with a specialist in the U.S. is like getting into Harvard with a 1.5 GPA and no legacy.

Haha, truly, it's a serious waiting game to get in to see them. Might be good to get a quicker opinion first. Orthos are cut happy even if not needed. So yes, most likely, micro tears are on the tendons. Have you been using any Hydrotherapy for taking the inflammation down? Does the pain feel deep or more on the surface?

I’ve been doing a cold plunge once a week which kinda helps. Feels surface (poke it, and feel tenderness). I don’t think it’s a deep tear. Your analysis seems on point.
