imo Abbot Kinney has the best lineup of fragrance stores. in order of north to south:

Strange Invisible: artisanal, botanical, bewitching

Le Labo: minimalist luxury, cult-favorite

D.S. & DURGA: story-driven fragrances as if they bottled up oddly specific memories (my fav, look at the flowers!!)

Aesop: cerebral, clean like an extension of skincare

i’d trade Diptyque for DS Durga in a heartbeat but yes fully agreed. love a candles + ice cream walk

if there was a diptyque store on AK, game over. closest one is in palisades village. i hung out a few times with a girl whose mom was a chemist for diptyque and it sounded like a dream job tbh.

I’d say Diptyque in addition to but not instead of. All their personal fragrances feel like I’m accidentally spraying a room spray from a sorority on my skin, but the candles are S tier and a go-to house warming gift.
