I said something like this the other day but I just have to say it again The phone is a remarkably unproductive device relative to a laptop let alone a widescreen desktop monitor I eased up my no phone rules and every time I find myself doing something productive on it I feel like an idiot w two thumbs & tiny screen

Need to reinstate hard phone rules I was an absolute machine (and still my ratio is way way better than it used to be, but not spending less than 30m on my phone these days)

I believe I’m starting to intuitively form a counter thesis here. We do different daily tasks though so I’m hoping we can merge them down the road for a more comprehensive theory

yeah. mobile is for when I don't want to do work. people who think they are getting a lot done on a phone are kidding themselves. i used to work on a 16" MBP with no externals (to have the same environment whether home office or mobile), but that was folly. now it's 27" externals + MBP and i would add more if i could

skill issue -- you aren't really living until you're running one-off sql statements against prod where you have to long press the double quote on the alternate punctuation keyboard in order to make sure that it's a literal double quote and not the slanty ones that are the default for some reason unparalleled UX tbh
