I used the Meta Raybans all week and the wasted potential is KILLING me. Incredible hardware, but subpar software. Here's how I'd reprogram them using APIs that literally exist right now: • Claude @AnthropicAI API integration for visual analysis - snap a pic + voice prompt and send it to Claude. I can do things like: point at a textbook and hear it explained, look at my lunch and get nutrition info, or spot a cool outfit and instantly find where to buy it. • Voice plugin using Whisper @OpenAI - converse naturally and get live results for recommendations, real-time translation, browse the internet on the fly, ask questions and get instant answers. • Memory/personalization with @mem0ai - it knows about you so it talks to you how you want it to, and can recall everything. "What was that restaurant John mentioned last week?" It remembers. • Social integration with @Meta APIs - voice commands to instantly share what you see. "Post this to Instagram with a fire emoji caption" or "Start livestream" without touching your phone. I'd also do a subscription model like WHOOP - $20/month for continuous updates and API usage.

I wonder if there is a comparable Chinese brand that I can check out while I’m here. I would guess XiaoMi makes something like this

Meta's R&D of recent times has been horrendous. I've had glasses like this for 4 years and they consistently break, repair and fulfilment issues always a challenge too (Meta isn't set up well for hardware support). Your suggestions are great but likely better if Ray Bans partnered elsewhere
