Yea, until you give people maternity/paternity and cheaper childcare then most population growth is going to come from immigration, assuming immigration is even legal by the end of this admin.

I do have the impression that they take work very seriously there, but you could probably say that about the USA too. Just remember we are looking at the minimums as established by law. Workplaces are free do offer higher.

A friend of mine in Japan got a full year of maternity leave, paid and protected. Blew my mind since so much of my perception of Japanese business culture revolves around lack of work life balance, but they really do have a lot of shit figured out.
