I dont even like Instagram, but every time I post to my 300 followers, it gets more engagement than on Farcaster, even though I supposedly have over 30k followers here. Getting to the point where follower counts and likes don’t mean much. Im more interested in thoughtful discussion and actually connecting with ppl

I hear you. I got 10k interactions hear a couple of weeks ago, and now it's <10 normally. and nice to see you in my feed. hope all is well!

That's interesting, generally I've always been of the opinion that engagement is way more important than follower/like counts. I've been testing boosting posts across my socials, but I find the organic ones to be the most fulfilling.

i really think even just the farcaster app could be reddit 2.0 if they deemphasized follower counts and engagement rewards would reduce slop and exposure to slop for many of us imo

Instagram is the only social left that has any sort of value in sharing & reaching at least some of your audience. Unfortunately, I don’t see posts from the people I follow often, but thankful my work & thoughts are at least acknowledged there for now. Not seeing what you follow & instead seeing what is forced on you is the dumbest pivot & model all these apps ever made. My passion & fight for it has subsided, & now I’m ready for a multi year, social cleanse. :)
