alright it turns out instacart costco is such a ripoff

5 dozen eggs:
Costco price- $13
Instacart price- $16.50, 27% increase

10lb frozen chicken breast, thin sliced:
Costco price- $28
Instacart price- $36. 43% increase!!

what the fuck? i could accept like 10% but 30-40% is insane

it's kind of ridiculous like just charge the same base price and increase the fees

stop fucking trying to scam consumers by spreading the true cost across multiple things

this is like when i was a kid i used to spread the veggies i didn't eat across the plate to hide them better

which is actually still insane, to upcharge on the item then add fees + membership + tip incurred by the consumer

i think compared to the other stores it still ends up being like 5% cheaper but really not by much

hmart and wegmans seem to have less of a markup

I saw this during Covid already. The markup is crazy. That said there’s still so many instacart folks there on weekdays so people do pay that price

yea so it comes down to 33.92 for the chicken after getting instacart+ integrated with costco sameday, which is on the costco site with my membership info

cheaper than $36 but still way more expensive than the $28 price at the warehouse

5dz eggs is 15.43, $13 at warehouse

Did you put in your membership number? It makes it a bit cheaper (still a markup)

Plus:
1. No hot dog
2. Can’t replace 1 meal with samples
3. No free relief from summer temperatures
