It's a good gotcha but I know more about Iran than Tucker Carlson and that doesn't make my opinion of the situation any more or less relevant than his. 

Ted Cruz has at best minor influence (assuming there's a congressional vote related to a war).

For sure this is a gotcha. It’s optics. But it’s nice seeing any kind of anti war shift and I think it’s effective. Maybe only a little but I’ll take anything

He has been safely winning a seat in a huge state. He's powerful. He has massive influence. Your comparison with yourself doesn't make sense.

(I can agree that Carlson might have even more influence despite not being a senator)

His influence is not just the vote. He is one of the highest ranking senators.

Apparently he's the guy in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that keeps yelling "Can we kill all the Iranians yet?"

Lindsay Graham is the big Iran hawk. 

That said, it doesn’t matter. They can’t order a strike. Power resides with the president. A formal war declaration seems unlikely.

Yes Dan, you should fly to Tehran and bring rational thinking [and peace] to the actors in that conflict.
