Well, they’re not wrong. An ordinary cargo ship full of drones could take on a carrier group no question. The cargo ship would be sunk as well but at a fraction of the cost.

Or through an acquisition of smaller efforts! A lot of small business accelerator grants, especially those that can partner with US universities on funded research areas, are injecting Keynesian capital still, even under the Trump administration cuts, into some very niche studio manufacturer development. The SBIR and STTR contract areas are telling. There is a small mesh of us drone start-up companies emerging to build solutions to weight, navigation, and energy usage in urban and rural operation environments. Look the the quiet rural midwest skies over states like Nebraska where people don't freak out over drones being tested and developed.
