Cursor + Postgres MCP has been decent for me but I am guessing you want something more powerful that just issuing a few queries bespokely

Remember least privileges for user or do it via a read only replica. There isn’t a best - basic stuff via official MCP, there’s this that I do use: https://github.com/crystaldba/postgres-mcp Cdata has made one too, not used it, beta for a while. Microsoft has worked on vscode-pgsql, lots of tools for Code but strangely missing the all important MCP kinda stuff (it’s probably coming)
