On-protocol communities are coming to Bluesky this year. Farcaster needs to move towards on-protocol communities ASAP. @neynar make it so!

Rare for me to look at a designer's home and think "wow this kinda sucks." Especially the kitchen. Black granite on black wood on black stairs...is color anathema?

Does anyone have any recs for a crypto IRA that allows staking or buying LSTs? AltoIRA just moved everyone from a Coinbase backend where cbETH was available to Public which apparently has none. If I'm not going to have the option to buy LSTs, I might as well just use Fidelity Crypto instead of maintaining another broke...

This is cool! I've always been enamored by UBI as an idea, and have heard about Circles for a long time but never had the gumption to sign up. IMO, voluntary UBI is something that can work IRL, it's a form of 'mutual aid' unlike money printing which just the debases the currency and ultimately causes inflation. I just...

Back in Pittsburgh for another wedding. Tried the bus to downtown, the busway is awesome! $2.75 and you get to flyby all the traffic.

One of the worst teachers I ever had was an highschool AP calculus teacher who once said (paraphrased): "once you get to this level of math, you're just doing it for the fun of it, there's no practical application." I ended up retaking calculus over the summer at the local community college with an retired Silicon Gra...
I'm enjoying calculus so much more in the context of relearning and using it for physics. It's helpful and motivating for me to have much more concrete and applicable reasons to use it when solving equations and understanding how a system behaves

Checked out Alleyoop in Santa Cruz, relatively new bar, opened around 4 months ago. Very cool (literally) CO2 glass chiller, never seen this before.

"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we d...

I wish I had more bandwidth to attend Farcon, I'm sure it was great, but this still feels like "the summer of our discontent." I read this NYT opinion today about the decline of Meta, I agree, but web3 isn't ready to catch the wave. 1. ETH roundtripped after making ATHs last year, lead by DATs. 2. People leaving left...

My theory for Farcaster's (or any decentralized social medium's) inevitable success is simple: 1. I want high-quality content from high-quality people 2. I don't want my social graph to be held hostage by one company or algorithm The rest is window dressing
