I'm old enough now to appreciate that Oasis brought nothing at all new to music and just wrote good songs that, both then and now, sound like they were 30 years old. In the 90s I thought they were so boring and derivative.

Werenβt they accused of / sued for stealing entire songs also ? I faded them back in the day but kind dig βem recently.

Yeah I mean they are totally insufferable cunts. Somewhere between Morissey and Eric Clapton on the UK-guitar-rock-bigot scale. But the songs are very much premium mediocre, rather than the forgettable slop I had them categorized as.

First of all fvck Clapton all together never could stand that guy. Kinda had; The Verve, Radiohead, Coldplay, and Oasis in one category. But yeah, to paraphrase: 'premium mediocre, not complete slop' seems fair. π Not sure if Pink Floyd fits into that broader category but they are great no matter what.

I shat on The Doors once and was promptly trounced. So Iβm going to be careful what I say. Nobody in their right mind will defend Coldplay, though, so I am willing to shit all over them.

Hahahha. Yeah, it's weird sometimes things you hate grow on you later and vise versa. Some of those bands like the Doors are almost there own category... There was a lot of early - mid nineties music that I fade now i.e., Trans-am, AIR, (the french band), Mogwai , etc. that I though were exceptional at the time. *Forgot to add Stone Roses to that previous list I'd probably still defend most late eighties thrash metal though.

The pure athleticism and technical musicality of thrash metal ticks many boxes for me.

Agree. I'll always go back to it at different times and situations.
