I have the engagement on posts hidden in X, as they allow this. I feel it allows me to give each post my attention without being subtly influenced by how popular it already is. I’ve since found my feed there much more enjoyable, less noisy.

not too personal tbh. i always think about the effect of notifications in the flow of time. they are, somehow, related to the past. and i like interacting with life in the present moment. so a feed as you say, and without notifications, would feel like a more “present moment experience” than what we are used to IMHO

IG tried this. Don’t know what the impact is/was

Once upon a time, we used to be happy about having 100 followers, now having 100k followers is like a warm up

We need those times back when we didn’t care about who liked or who followed, just banger replies and vibes

it will be like food without calories: less anxiety, more attention to taste

I think engagement might go down a bit, but the quality of engagement would go up

I don't check the reaction until react but may have some bias based on followers or maybe only on trust adquired through time

Do you think people would engage more authentically or just disappear without the numbers?

Just like YouTube's no dislike count but this time all off.. 

People would still follow who they enjoy though genuinely I feel
