Agree. I will add - "law" in itself is governmental obligation, so you could argue this isn't capitalism but rather state intervention incentivized by corporations. @thoughtcrimeboss might have good arguments there. Unless we're going anarchy, this is about which class drives the laws: Capital class OR working class. This is an example of capital class driving laws.

That was my first thought. Enforcement of non-competes goes explicitly against the core philosophy of capitalism. Megacorps love deregulation for themselves, and draconian laws to keep the serfs in line. Capitalism should be a tool for the masses to keep bloated power structures in line. I have weird perspectives on all this 😅
