real talk why didn’t short form text social spur a poetry renaissance? feels like a content medium that could’ve flourished as a result of the rise of bite sized content feeds 🤔

Maybe in part the cost/benefit of taking the time and effort to write one. Since a lot of work needs to go into writing a small amount of text, only for it to be passively read, and appraised in the same way as any other text post. Unlike visual art, where an image/video is going to hold more interest for most users.

hard to consume for the same reason it takes effort to consume short poetry, you should be confident there is something there (eg someone put a lot of work into this and isn’t just doing wordimage salad)

yes related to the halting problem :) it's hard to know the depth of a short poem without doing to work to explore its depths it'd feel bad if you spent time exploring and found nothing there this is very different from something like a meme that by design can be digested instantaneously
