real talk why didn’t short form text social spur a poetry renaissance? feels like a content medium that could’ve flourished as a result of the rise of bite sized content feeds 🤔

Maybe in part the cost/benefit of taking the time and effort to write one. Since a lot of work needs to go into writing a small amount of text, only for it to be passively read, and appraised in the same way as any other text post. Unlike visual art, where an image/video is going to hold more interest for most users.

visuals definitely have more arresting qualities part of me wonders if it’s a “i won’t change my process” inertia problem obv i’m into /slowcore-hq but do think raw art rapidposting probably has a place too

hard to consume for the same reason it takes effort to consume short poetry, you should be confident there is something there (eg someone put a lot of work into this and isn’t just doing wordimage salad)
