i’ve come to realize i viscerally dislike the word ‘content’ similar to @ted on ‘creators’ (she’s right btw)

To update slightly what @christin quoted me saying last year I generally think “anti-content” energy is a gut reaction to personally feeling deeply upset with an amorphous and monstrous system and misdirecting it at a concrete detail of that system It’s the same thing as locking into maga hats or egg prices or Hillary’s emails or blue haired liberals We scream at the legible thing because the illegible thing is a lovecraftian horror we’d rather not acknowledge or perceive

i actually agree with this i screamed at the legible thing bc it’s a cornerstone of that system and tbqh was more succinct than saying: “it’s all become so performative, w so many people almost living their life thru the lens of ‘moar content’ and optimizing for whatever they believe will build an audience. but not actually doing or creating anything with any real resonance. merely pumping out soulless, easily forgotten nonsense in the name of ~content~” like i saw this and feel it’s a good representation of how “content” is purposed today
