I’ve had a dry cough for like 3 weeks following what (I suspect) was Covid. Took a bunch of tests and showed negative but have no explanation for this. Not super disruptive but a little annoying when I talk and lose my breath. 

Anyone else had this?

hmmm have you been tested for allergies? Sounds like it could be stemming from something underlying

I know this is random but I’m just a guy 😂 trying to promote physical health awareness as a physical therapist and to help people provide answers concerning health and fitness

It's not uncommon for people to experience a persistent dry cough post-viral infection, including after Covid-19, even if tests are negative.

We often refer to this as a "post-viral cough"  it can last several weeks due to lingering inflammation or sensitivity in the airways. 

As a PT, I'd recommend a few strategies to manage and potentially reduce the risk of this cough: 

Firstly.. stay well-hydrated, avoid irritants like smoke and strong odors, practice breathing exercises to strengthen respiratory muscles, and maintain good posture to support lung function. 

Also, you should avoid overexertion and ensure ample rest to aid recovery. If the cough persists beyond 8 weeks or worsens, consulting a healthcare provider is important.

it's happening to a lot of people here in buenos aires, and nobody seems to understand what it is...

I hope you're feeling better but there's some long covid stuff where it has a much longer recovery time to get "back to normal" my partner is immunocompromised and when she got it it took ages to not be winded from seemingly simple things.  could obviously be something else though.

My partner and I had a nasty cold last winter. We both took tests and got negative results. We had our doubts about the tests and joked about how this is the new normal, take a questionable test and move on with your life.

Something like that went around our family for a while. Super annoying.

It's probably an irritation,try staying away from dusty places, and also if the weather conditions where you are is kinda harsh you'll have to take measures to protect yourself. 
Then also try taking more warm water it'll help. Then If these ones don't work then you'll have to take cough syrups or antibiotics

The complaints are very similar to the effects of a covid infection.

Not always tests detect covid, there are many false negatives. Maybe a new strain of covid

No but I had the flu like 10 times this year already.
