Traveling with a 2 year old later this month to a place that has an 8 hour time difference. Any tips on getting them adjusted? Or am I totally screwed? 😂

Been there. Not easy, will take 2-3 days to adapt. But try to adjust the child’s bedtime and wake-up time closer to the new schedule for a few days. Good luck!

3yo hasn't adjusted to last year's summer time change and has been waking up at 5 AM since 🫠

I don't envy you. I feel toddlers are more resilient and can handle themselves more than we give them credit for. If you can try to main a nap and sleep schedule, it should work

It will be hard, but they’ll do better than you expect (since we always expect the worst lol). In my experience trying to keep them up late in an effort to sleep through the night never worked, but planning a long mid day nap worked well for us. Also -8 hr seems to be easier than +8 hr.

Depends how long you’ll be there !! If it’s over a week then take advantage of flight time to adjust to the upcoming time difference Good luck 🫡

Thats going to be a wild ride. When I took my kids on a 2 hour flight at ages 1 and 3 I said never again. This is insanity lol

From my own experience with my two kids (who have been frequent flyers since newborns), toddlers are much more resilient to jet lag than adults. Try to take care of yourself first so that you can feed them and put them to sleep on a regular schedule 🤞🤞
