I've seen pictures of food looking like the equivalent of a suicide note getting hundreds of likes from farming rings, getting 5-10$ in weekly rewards. Casts by people having less than hundred followers btw. 

If we change it to thousands of $ of rewards, the farming rings will step up.

What happened to $degen seasons once they started trying to “fight farmers” shows what happens when we focus on the wrong things tbh

Farmers are annoying but if you try and eliminate them you also eliminate plenty of innocent people caught in the crossfire 

Would you rather a guilty person accidentally go free sometimes or an innocent person spend life in prison?

Everyone knew they were gonna get a token so they farmed the shit out of it

Worked out pretty well because the product was good

the problem was continuing with tips as-is instead of adjusting the system as soon as farmers saw an easily gameable system

trying to think we could possibly police "yeah here's free money you just get to give to people use it responsibly" once that free money was actually beginning to be worth real money was questionable lol

Agreed. But there are people here that have been caught with their hand in the cookie jar, that still have "fans" amount the KOLs here, regardless of the past indiscretions. I'd definitely not want those people to get several k weekly. 

IMO the best way would be to mix it up here and there. Shoot a random 100 bucks weekly to someone in the 420th place. People between 1000 and 1050 get 69 bucks, that kind of thing.

People in the top 30 usually, I repeat, usually, don't actually NEED the top prizes. With notable exceptions, of course.

tbh i think if we focused on smaller numbers of accounts getting money it would actually be less of an issue because a team would thoroughly look into 3 accounts getting 3,000 dollars each

Fair enough. I am aware that it is not something done with a sweep accross the board (good example with the degen thing). And some manual checking is necessary.

But having people with 10 accounts, all artificially pumping and farming some channels, is surely not sth that I think should be tolerated in the long run.

I was banned in second season along with lots of other users and after almost a year we realised what happened then.
Majority of banned people where from korea and Persia 
Obviously me and my friends after that decided to never invest in their project .

I think the "farmer" nuke also nuked a lot of the degen tipping groups too.  Sadly everyone loves a product when they are reaping the benefit.

I think it all comes down to resources. I mean, L0 did a witchhunt, at the first glance it looked absurd, but in the end, they really did quite a good job.
You can’t eliminate all farmers, but can leave behind obvious ones
