By producing less you're letting china produce more and without any oversight on emissions (meaning you end up producing more pollution for the world)

I don't understand your point here, the principle of the degrowth movement is to make things more human by producing less (or producing better).
We learnt that productivity -> pollution -> global warming -> troubles for humans
the proposal is to adapt by less productivity in order to keep growing because there are more and more humans on earth
