Counterpoint is we now know a lot of the degrowth ideology is foreign state actors trying to destabilize Europe

It's unclear however if they just funded small movements that already existed (like radical eco activists) and made them big

I don't understand your point here, the principle of the degrowth movement is to make things more human by producing less (or producing better).
We learnt that productivity -> pollution -> global warming -> troubles for humans
the proposal is to adapt by less productivity in order to keep growing because there are more and more humans on earth

By producing less you're letting china produce more and without any oversight on emissions (meaning you end up producing more pollution for the world)
