I want to buy a coffee machine as a wedding gift, budget is ~$500 Anyone have recs? Nothing super sophisticated, just want an easy to use and beautiful machine.

espresso is tough at this price point, not sure I'd bother for pourover would get the xbloom @thepark suggested, it was really slick when I saw it in person

wow there’s a coffee machine automating pouring over hot water?? for this money can just buy a decent grinder and pour over filter yourself and buy coffee for years ahead can only see folks buying it who already do pour over and want to automate it with a good looking machine like that

xbloom has a built-in grinder that’s better than what 99% of users have at home and it does pourover better (and more consistently) than most home baristas. so, yes it’s better and therefore more expensive. of course you can buy a V60 and a gooseneck kettle to do it yourself, but that’s a) more manual labour b) likely lower quality and/or less consistent results. main advantage for that approach is that you enjoy the process or cost is your main concern.
