Been thinking about this since I read the cast this morning. I think there is no equivalent. Why? Because it’s digital. And because it’s decentralized. A nation state pressuring a CEX is likely what is closest, but I still think it’s nowhere powerful enough to result in a pump and that’s great. ETH is supposed to be resistant 💪

Real Absolute crash in economy and interest rates so the yield of staking had measured value and becomes attractive… don’t see that happening in an inflationary world Also reality of digital oil analogy is the L2s were like a Tesla meets a giant solar array… so cheap to run the ETH economy - less need for the digital oil underlying.
