TIL that testosterone in men drives courtship behaviors (approaching potential sexual partners / flirting etc.), but not sexual desire. I had always assumed that fluctuations in the latter correlated with testosterone levels https://royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rspb.2024.1508

So testosterone, at least in this case, drives agency. You want something equally either way, but your T affects whether you do anything about it. Probably nothing: https://www.urologytimes.com/view/testosterone-levels-show-steady-decrease-among-young-us-men

I guess it depends on the dose. I have some friends who do TRT and steroid-level TST loads and basically all of them say that their sexual desire goes through the roof

Interesting that we actually cure lack of sexual desire with testosterone, meaning the cure has no proven effect. What else do we cure based on incorrect assumption like this one?
