Felix Baumgartner, first human to skydive from 39 km up into the stratosphere and to reach a supersonic speed (Mach 1.25) without a vehicle, died from a heart attack and subsequent crash while conducting a paramotoring flight in Italy. He was 56.

i still remember waiting for the red bull jump years ago with my old laptop, laptop crashed mid-jump and i bought my very first macbook the next day

I feel like every few years, there’s a moment that isn’t politically partisan, or involves a sports team, such that everybody can get behind a shared hive emotion — awe in the case of Felix’s jump, indignation in the case of Harambe’s death, etc.

This was an iconic moment. Still remember it.
