🌳🌳🌳 Went to my kids’ end-of-year school show today. Every song was about the environment “Power of flowers” 🌺 “Aux arbres citoyens” 🌳 a play on words meaning “To the trees, citizens!” calling for environmental action. Kids were holding up signs asking to plant trees in the middle of a concrete schoolyard… For a few minutes, I genuinely felt hopeful. Maybe this generation will be the one to save the planet

It was 34°C (93°F) on a blacktop schoolyard that had been completely resurfaced just a year ago , quite a striking contrast.

I think they are getting a lot of good messages in school. Also our kids. And you are giving such a great example at home, with the fruits and so on in your garden. But they should do something about that schoolyard. Maybe have some planters there, that students can fill with plants they like. In the previous school of my kids, each class had a planter to fill and take care of. It's not just the songs and the messaging in words, it's also acting on them.

"Aux arbres" est aussi le titre d'une collection de @zancan Je pense que cela lui ferait plaisir de voir des enfants chanter un détournement qui s'inscrit dans le même esprit. 🌱
