Agree with @toly ~$5-10 airdrops don’t incentivize people who want to use apps with a utility token, they incentivize farmers who dilute the quality of discourse in the network The degradation to content quality is not worth the DAU bump imo (empty calories) https://x.com/aeyakovenko/status/1928829488043098226?s=46

Honestly don’t really buy toly’s premise. That you end up with farmers/low quality users depends completely on the way you target. Also - building for DAO treasuries sounds nice, but DAOs rarely have the ability or willingness to pay, and I think 0% of people who are willing to start an onchain treasury will accept bips on AUM. Bips on yield like Splits does is way more acceptable. Solana sure would benefit from more DAO tooling but I don’t think it’s the way forward for FC right now.

Yeah I also did not agree with the solution (DAOs are kind of a dead meta tbh) But I agreed with the problem. How does targeting improve the fundamental problem of a bad market?

I don’t think anything can « solve » a bad market. And FC has more than just crypto natives on it. It also has artists, journalists, newbies, etc. If your airdrop activates one of those people, that’s a huge potential benefit.
