Part of what makes X so shitty to use now is that there is no sense of shared reality on the platform With Twitter, we had a solid veneer of truth that 80% could reach consensus on Now, it’s a thousand fragments of reality trying to coexist (they can’t) The people crave a retvrn to an internet that feels real again

programmable subnetworks -> self-curate the group of people who have intersubjective agreement about their reality fragment and help them talk more with each other (and later take action together)

how far do you have to go in Twitter history when "80% could reach consensus"? probably more than a decade it's not X who killed consensus, it's the attention-based algos who incentivize fragmentation you get what you incentivize

Giving everyone a platform has allowed people to think that each and everyone of us are the Main Character in whatever narrative they hold true. Social media at it's core is a mechanism to drive up individualism (monetization, attention, engagement to one's self) and less cohesion or conformity, where the loudest voice (whether right or wrong) is usually the one most heard as it creates 'buzz'. People don't want to conform, they want to be seen... and this is an extreme example of a yearning for self worth but on steroids on a global platform. Buzz it the new king of attention in a world of ever shorterned attention spans and "what's next" economy. Wrong info sell as "hot takes" and disinformation is "Breaking free of the matrix". It's all in by design to reach no consensus.

I agree that people crave a return to the Internet of the past, but do you feel like that can’t happen on this platform as well eventually?
