As a creator, how much do you think about platform lock in or platform dependency risks? And what are you doing to mitigate it these days?

i don’t think creators should depend on any platform. its a huge risk. atm i just try to be on as many platforms as possible and building my own.

Hmm, I'd say that way too many creators don't worry about this at all until it's too late. When you're starting, you go where the audiences are. When you're growing you don't turn that off, you put more gas on the fire. There's a small but unpredictable list of taboo topics that might get your deplatformed. X is the most insane as its run by an insane person. The others are often inconsistent and uneven, but far less specious than some would like to make it sound... My advice has been the same for 15 years to creators, own as much as your audience as possible - not because you will get deplatformed but because it gives you more optionality.

A lot! Most of the music nft platforms that I’ve released work on have closed in the past year or two. For web3, I’ve been working with a dev on just building my own platform. I’m not really as concerned with the web2 world
