Reminder: the vast majority of users don't care about decentralization. Developers do! And a minority of ideologically principled users care. But the much bigger market is solving user problems. And if you have enough users, developers will be willing to tolerate your centralization.

people care if someone else can take your account away. I don’t know if you wanna call that centralization or not but that’s the part that bothers me about it.

Same. I don’t think it is a Dev’s job to care or think for the user to be informed I just think it is important for users to be educated and understand the significance in some degree.

exactly, vast majority of users and devs don't have an internally consistent mental model for what decentralization means and just go off of vibes, none of them can agree on a definition but they mostly agree about what they want/don't want from a service
