Socially Devoted To You (Web3 Socials) was our fifth class for @shefi Season 15, hosted by @love . We started with Vision Exercises, and it was honestly so beautiful 🥹 This class shifted how I think about Web2 socials and opened my eyes to what Web3 socials make possible and how important they are. With Web3 socials, you have more control over your digital identity and presence: •You can earn directly without intermediaries. •You own your content, data, and audience. •You can take your profile and followers with you across platforms. •Your identity isn’t locked inside one app or company. Some examples of Web3 social platforms and ecosystems include: base, farcaster, paragraph, mirror, lens and zora.

On episode 4, s15 of our class at Shefi, we learned more about Wonder Wallets ✨☺️ It was a knowledge packed session and I learnt so much in just a few hours. Here are my highlights from the class : > How wallets are becoming more user friendly : advancing from the use of secret phrases and private keys, easier and more familiar log in mechanisms and others. E.g Base App Mobile Wallet >Smart wallet and it's key features >The Base Smart Accout Wallet and it's key features : wallet, cloud backup via passkeys, social feed, messaging and mini apps >The comparison between smart account wallets and standard wallets > Browser wallets (web wallets) subcategorized into browser extension based wallets and browser native wallets >Brave browser wallet, it's key features and the currency in which brave rewards are paid - BAT (Basic Attention Token) as well as it’s key features

Every women deserves financial sovereignty. -@love Women in America didn’t truly have this until 1974. My mother couldn’t open a credit card or get a bank account without a male co-signer. Web3 changes all of this. Anyone can have a wallet regardless of where you live, your gender, race, religion, etc. It’s so easy to forget how much we take for granted. Many people around the world, especially women, do not have financial independence and Web3 can change that. So when we fight for Web3 and cryptocurrency, it’s more than just memes and tokens and NFTs. We are fighting for something much bigger and much more important. We are so early. And this is so important.

What happens when 300 high schoolers show up to your hotel? The WiFi goes down like whoa. Missed my first live SheFi class, but the recordings must have been posted mere minutes after the class ended and I’ve been able to watch them over breakfast since the kids are on their way to play tourist. Three things really stood out to me in the intro. 1. Women are not risk averse, they are risk aware. This really hit me deeply. It resonates with why I spend so much time in Japan. I can just exist. I can walk anywhere, any time of day or night. I can listen to music as I walk. I can turn off the entire part of my brain that’s always “aware” of my surroundings. Because I’ve been conditioned that if something happens to me it’s because I wasn’t aware. I didn’t take precautions. I didn’t pay attention. Japan isn’t perfect and women face a different set of challenges here. I have a lot of privilege as someone’s who’s obviously a foreigner. I create a “gaijin zone”, an invisible force around me that says do not mess with me…and it’s glorious. This whole concept of “awareness” permeates our existence and you can’t escape it. Women are always measuring risks and this keeps us safe, but can also hold us back when it comes to finances and I need to think long and hard on this one. 2. You don’t need permission. Web3 is truly permission-less. Just do it. 3. I really love this quote. Insist on others success. It matters. Cheer them on.

I'm thrilled to have caught up with the SheFi season 15 class and I'm so glad I got to experience Maggie's affirmations🥹 What a wonderful way to set a positive tone for our sessions. I love affirmations and appreciate that they're a regular part of the class. Assistant #1 is joining #SheFiSeason15 as a SheFi Scholar! She’s going to learn all about Web3 so I can start bringing my silly questions to her instead of bothering Uncle Horse (and a few others in DCs). I’ll still bother them sometimes..,just like 40% less. Huge win for all of us. Proud of her. Nervous for the blockchain. Thank you @shefi!
