Being negative is cheap. Saying "everything is going to be worse" makes you sound like a realist. Saying "something good is possible here" can make you sound dumb or privileged. Let's be clear on what optimism ISN'T: - "good vibes only" while ignoring injustice - gaslighting yourself into gratitude when you're exhausted So how to build real optimism? - focus on today, this week, this month; not the next decade - separate what's true from what your fear is predicting - save evidence of progress: screenshots of kind messages, good feedback, small wins (this helps me!) - listen to what your people say about you, especially when you can't see your own growth I won't tell you to "just think positive". That's insulting, and I don't believe in ideas without action. But optimism can keep you moving when fear wants you frozen. It can give you a reason to invest your time and energy in things that aren't guaranteed, like relationships or new projects. In late 2025, that seems like enough 🩷
