The OM guitar is 95% finished! It needs a truss rod cover and some fine tuning to the nut and saddle for intonation. It's a German spruce top with German walnut back and sides. The fretboard and bridge are ebony and the neck and binding are made from sycamore. I'm quite proud tbh 😁

The bridge is glued onto the OM guitar, and this evening I polished the frets. Some wood tore out of the soundboard when removing the masking, but luckily it's mostly hidden by the fretboard, and I repaired the tiny visible part. Final assembly tomorrow? 👀

it was finally time to hang this mirror up and hide the ugly cabinet!! got some polish work to do but overall satisfied with the effect and how much extra light it brings to the kitchen :) video at the end shows how the frame sits on top of the cabinet face and holds the mirror (plus how much i struggled hanging it lol) this wasn’t as easy as i expected since the cabinet still needs to be semi-accessible - it hides the breaker box, electricity meter, and security system for the apartment. plus the left edge of the cabinet is so close to the wall i had to drill from the inside to attach the mirror’s frame on that side will likely end up redoing this at some point with a better build plan now that i know what was wrong with the first one!

If you are into 3d printing or woodworking, try knitting or crocheting. It's all just fabrication in the end, and can scratch the same itch.

Printed something out for Halloween! Going to see if I can get the kids to paint it.

8 months and ~30 hours of work later, and this project is finally complete 🤭 I've been mostly finished by August, but the progress got stuck at the final step - I had to take down the door to cover the landing with oil, and there never seemed to be good timing for that. So the steps have already seen some use during the last 4 months, and I really like how durable the finish is! Dog claws are no joke. Love seeing that before and after comparison, I almost forgot how bad these steps looked before I started on them 🥹

Just finished covering the open deck with two coats of coloured oil ☺️ This time my husband did all the sanding (thank god, it was a real challenge with these velvet boards), so I was left with the easy task of finishing them up. It did take ~5 hours across 3 days though! Which doubled as a squat workout 😆

yeah ai is cool and all but have you ever used painter’s tape to visualize how your furniture ideas would feel in the actual space?
