Marshmallow root is an OG medicinal plant. It was originally in marshmallow candy. Then ~100 years ago, it was fully gone. Replaced by gelatin (pork-derived collagen), corn syrup, and more sugar (which went from supporting to dominant ingredient). Live Longer by not eating today’s marshmallows.

i'm participating in the longevity world cup here at @edgecity! this morning i went to get a blood panel and in 2-3 days should have the results. here are the biomarkers we are looking at: Albumin (also known as Serum Albumin) Creatinine (sometimes called Serum Creatinine) Glucose (also referred to as Blood Sugar) C-Reactive Protein (CRP, also known as hs-CRP for high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein) Lymphocyte Percentage (may be labeled as Lymphocyte % or Absolute Lymphocyte Count) Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV, also called Average Red Blood Cell Size) Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW, sometimes called RDW-CV or Red Blood Cell Size Variation) Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP, also referred to as Alk Phos) White Blood Cell Count (WBC Count, also called Leukocyte Count) treated myself to this gorgeous breakfast afterwards. https://longevityworldcup.com/onboarding/join-game.html

Ulcers, previously a chronic illness linked to stomach cancer, were thought to be caused by stress and poor diet. Two guys in 1982 figured out it was a specific bacterial infection. Treat with antibiotics, no ulcers, reduce chance of 2nd most common cancer at the time https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/medicine/2005/summary/

Today in one sentence: People with lung cancer lived longer with immune-therapy plus chemo before surgery; early cervical cancer patients did well with a gentler node-check surgery; long-term data show gene therapy stays safe for a rare immune disease; a lupus drug (telitacicept) worked in a big trial; and donor insulin cells survived in people without immune-suppressing medicine. https://reframedaily.beehiiv.com/p/reframe-daily-longer-lung-cancer-survival-safer-cervical-surgery-insulin-cells-last-without-immune-d

Good news! A one-time gene therapy let many deaf children hear; stroke patients did better when doctors used full anesthesia and added a small dose of clot medicine after opening the artery; an oral pill protected kidneys in a rare disease; and a new drug mix beat standard chemo for pancreatic cancer. https://reframedaily.beehiiv.com/p/reframe-daily-gene-therapy-helps-deaf-kids-hear-2-stroke-care-wins-kidney-pill-works-new-pancreatic

This is one such example of why?? Reportedly charge a $100k initiation fee with $60k/year after that. One can argue its for the network. But a great high tier PPO insurance lets you see nearly any specialist in your area with part of the cost covered. And if you want to pay cash, why limit yourself to these select physicians when you can go anywhere in the country and world and get the best person possible for a specific disease/issue. But just for prevention/longevity, its a waste. https://www.atria.org/ https://x.com/bryan_johnson/status/1973463294804701673

Beautifully written. Whenever I feel society pushing an age narrative, the 2 go-to reminders for myself are: 1. Sam Walton had been running Ben Franklin stores for decade+ and started Walmart in his mid 40s. 2. A lot of ultra runners find their best running years not in their 20s or 30s, bu lt their 40s.
