i figured it out… god damn japanese beetles. grubs. makes so much sense in hindsight — the grass started to die ~2 weeks before the beetles showed up en masse
the worst area, along the fence, is where the beetles feast and fuck in a frenzy. nasty buggers. vendetta

lads — we’re cooked, deep-fried, downright bamboozled. no idea what the problem is. this is the worst area in the backyard
somebody mentioned grubs??? i guess they eat the roots. there has been a wild amount of bug activity flying around the grass. pulled up a couple sections only to reveal mega dry soil.
i pulled back on the water frequency cuz i thought i had a fungus. still might, but the result is also dry grass lmao. fungicide didn’t do anything. i’m scrambling

we’re cooked for a bit lads. really goofed thinking i knew better than nature. midcurved tf out of it thinking “grass needs water, why not more water?”
watering too frequently without allowing time to dry out properly breeds bacteria and reduces root strength.
i’m on a fix with antifungal and revive solutions. my achilles heel is doing too much thinking it’s helping
also learned that i need to sharpen my mower blades. wild but sounds fun
