happy official /channels day ꒰ঌ(˶ˆᗜˆ˵)໒꒱
for this first inaugural OCD i'd like to big up a few channels for being my first homes here.
/trashgang was there for me when no one else was there for me. as a raccoon boi, i had to start posting here when i found it. met my fellow trash panda @raccoontrading and @st0noots and some other beasties and we'd post our lil memes and have fun. it will always be home.
/los-angeles made moving irl to LA and meeting new cool people so much easier. the url to irl pipeline is real, and it enriched my life 🥹 when the fires hit, having social sharing with our lil brypto social graph and tipping for relief efforts was inspiring and i cant wait to see it at scale.

If channels were free to create (and burn when dead) what kind of opportunities would open up for communities?
One of the biggest concerns I hear from people using this platform for collaboration is inability to organize conversations effectively.
I think channels is the way to go on this, as long as they can be removed from the UI when the usefulness of the convo ends. But it has to be free to make channels to do this. Let’s face it, Discord still rules as far as a community organizing tool goes and a large part of it is because you can create “channels” at will.
