ive been viewing gaza-israel through the lens of the holocaust, but i realize now that its an improper analogy. a better one would be the war of european settlers against the native americans, or the colonization of america. the main difference being the first is sequestering a population, while the second is an invasion and progressive siege of another's homeland. unfortunately, this new metaphor bodes worse for the outcome for the palestinian people

1850-1900 the west, particularly California, wiped out the remaining indigenous people by 75%. It was the state Calvary funded (reimbursed) by the federal government. Newspapers reported “skirmishes” when entire cohorts of people and villages were destroyed You’re absolutely right in your comparison but Americans don’t know the half of that history. Hitler actually studied what we did. We were the benchmark

yes. settler colonialism shows how imperialism works by breaking apart indigenous ppls, taking land, and blocking self-sufficiency. strategy of control. israel functions as a western-backed settler outpost, fragmenting and structurally dispossessing Palestinians over time
