I’m bullish on Farcaster collectibles

Liquidity is overrated by crypto nerds – most consumers want to pay creators directly instead of buying into an amorphous market

Interested in human flourishing & social infrastructure

I think they're an interesting experiment but don't think volume will sustain in the wide majority of cases. Making it easier to tip with a "super like" directly in the action bar would do better imo.

But collectibles give status which is more powerful than altruism

I think that most people don’t want to get into a bidding war over casts to win a useless collectible but would tip a couple bucks for casts they really like

Depends what the goals are. What is “volume”?

I agree super like is kinda the platonic ideal but given the existing tipping apps I think it made sense for them to try a slightly different angle

Also think the novelty / constraints of this approach will be more likely to go viral and attract people not already here

No because auctions price people out quickly so you’re relying on the bids continuing to grow vs. if a bunch of people could tip $1
