Why do we consume our feeds algorithmically but our chats chronologically? The current chat UX treats all messages as if they’re the same level of importance or relevance even though they’re not, especially in larger groups This leads to notification fatigue which in turn causes members to mute and check out

This is why most group chats don't scale. Feeds get better with more active people.

I don't want to consume my Warpcast feed algorithmically but we're not given a choice (except switching clients).

@baseddesigner.eth
the thing is that you don’t want to miss an important cast to you in case of chats you have to go through the whole chronological history of what happened since you last visited - increasing amount of mental energy you need to spend same with the feeds, I’m used to following my notification feed

I have thought about this for a while, especially in the ol' Discord days. The best I've reasoned is that folks actually interact with feed content (e.g., like, comment, etc.), whereas chats/messages are, by and large, just read and keep scrolling. so the behavior change would be more ways to engage with chat messages to determine which ones are actually 'useful' tldr; tuff to apply logic to something that's read and scrolled past imo

I thought this take in the tavern hit esp hard. Agreed wholeheartedly, has made DCs unusable imo.

Also didn’t you like the chronicle feed better? Feels like we’re missing out on a lot of stuff. Especially since the new algo doesn’t prioritize new following so everyone just follow and forget.
