I’m in the Graham Hancock camp of ancient-civilization(s)-destroyed-by-cataclysm. Not a big believer in the ancient aliens angle. So Antarctica was mapped by an advanced seafaring civilization way back before the continent was covered in ice. The map is a surviving copy of their work. What’s your view?

I’m also fascinated by the idea that there is some other technological track that we’ve just missed, like manipulating sound waves to move giant blocks of stone or liquefy and resolidify rock — explanations for pyramids in Egypt and large structures in South America respectively
